I recently stayed in Cabin 1 at the tranquil Caddisfly Resort. I was in the area to run the McKenzie River Trail 50K Run on June 18th. The sign is easy to miss, so keep your eyes peeled as you get closer. It is tucked away in a pretty oasis of green foliage and flowers. I only met Doris at check in, but she was very sweet. Our cabin was steps away from the river and there were chairs with a fire pit but we were rarely there, due to the rainier weather that weekend. However, we did see boaters from the cabin, so that was fun to watch. The cabin was very neat and clean with a cozy living area and TV and small kitchen. Aside from salt and pepper, make sure you pack any staples for cooking. There are many dishes, utensils, and appliances available. The beds were comfortable – there was one bedroom downstairs and my friend took the loft (3 bed options). Those stairs to the loft are a little steep, so if you have small children, just know they may need help or some guidance. There is a restaurant/store right next to the resort and we had a great lunch here! I had a burrito and my friend had the tacos. Staying at the Caddisfly Resort was the perfect location for me to drive to Blue River to catch a shuttle for our race and to enjoy a finisher party at the community track. This was such an oasis – I absolutely loved the sound of the river and we kept the doors open as often as possible, even with the rain and cooler temps because it was so wonderful to listen to the sound of the river and chirping birds. I highly recommend staying here and doubt you would find anything better!! Thank you for a great stay.
